About The Faculty

The Faculty of Scottish Web Authors is Scotland's only organization for HTML design originators. Founded in Scotland, the faculty is designed to serve the informational, educational, and support needs of web readers. The Faculty continues to grow as the World Wide Web medium becomes more and more established as an alternative to print and other mass marketing media.

The Faculty of Scottish Web Authors awards honorary membership from top of the line professional and industry leaders in the HTML field to those just starting out and looking to learn. Faculty members have created a wide range of sophisticated documents covering every aspect of Scotland including electronic publications, catalogs, newsletters, promotional materials and brochures amongst others. These documents are as unique and diverse as the members themselves yet all promote Scotland and it's virtues throughout the World.

The Faculty focus on the the World Wide Web publishing process. The seal of approval offered by the Faculty is invaluable to Scottish web authors of all skill levels using all current operating systems. The Faculty awards work rich in Scottish culture, history or knowledge which has required the very latest technology in hardware, software and peripherals to produce.

The Faculty helps others appraise web sites enabling those who have obtained awards or honorary membership to stay in touch with the ever changing issues related to Scotland. The Faculty respond to the ever changing environment within which we operate, evolving the power of the World Wide Web to promote Scotland in the spirit of it's philosophy.

The Faculty of Scottish Web Authors:

  1. Is intended to support and revive the spirit of Scotland by awarding worthy web sites. Helping it's members, commending good pages, and establishing a pro-Scotland environment.
  2. Faculty award writers are normally dedicated to excellence and integrity, and should be considered as excellent sites for potential readers interested in Scotland.
  3. The Faculty award will prove a suitable reference for writer/developers anxious to learn the type of content which makes a site worthy of the Faculty's award.
  4. The Faculty does not act as a policing body for poor sites.
  5. The Faculty does not seek to control the web, but to recommend what is good for Scotland.
