NEWS FROM THE LOCH.
By Paul Grantham.

Tom McLean tried to tempt Nessie from the deep with a 60-ton diesel vessel that he built to sail the Atlantic. The vessel is in the shape of a huge whale complete with tail fin. Tom who once stayed on the tiny island of Rockall in order to claim it for Britain, says, “Nessie, just wont be able to resist. I just hope the boat can stand the encounter.” He plans to move on from the loch after a day before attempting the trip to New York.

Nanny Louise Whitts claims she has found the remains of a close relative of Nessie, according to a report in the August 22nd of The Sun. She photographed an object washed ashore on the island of Benbecula six years ago which is baffling marine experts. She said, “It had a curved back with a row of fins along it-similar to how I imagined the Loch Ness Monster.”

She recently took the picture to Hancock Museum in Newcastle but experts failed to identify the ‘animal.’ Curator Alex Coles said, “It certainly has the shape we associate with Nessie.”

Tony Wheelan plans to swim Loch Ness twice-with one arm. Tony who is 30yrs of age lost both legs and the use of his left arm in a road accident in 1986. He is leading a relay team aiming to be the first in the world to achieve the 52 mile feat in September.

Tony says, “My only worry is bumping into Nessie.” Any money raised from the swim will go to the charity DIRECT which funds diabetes research.

Richard Carter would like any information, news personal theories etc. on the film taken by Tim Dinsdale in Foyers Bay during 1960. He is at present researching the footage and believes that it may not be the monster after all. So any person who can help either way then please contact Richard at ; 5 Dirker Drive. Marsden.
