    My Very Own Piece of Scotland.certsm.gif - 21.3 K

Trevor knew what I meant and offered me such a piece. I gladly accepted the offer, but wondered it if could be tied up legally, it was important that, however small the parcel, I had to know it really was going to be mine. Trevor assured me that next time he went to Inverness he would get his solicitor to deal with it. Overhead it was almost dark, as I took a last look out to sea, the distant silhouette of the Stornoway ferry at the sky line might easily have been that of the Hector, as it had followed into the sunset more than two hundred years earlier.

Trevor lost no time during the next week in seeing his lawyer, telling him the gist of the story, he could see by the way he considered the enquiry that there was something difficult about the request, as indeed there was.

"What you are asking me to do is create a heritage title which I'm afraid can't be registered in the normal way of a land transaction". However the lawyer said he would seek the advice of the Registrar of the Books of Council at Edinburgh. The answer came back in due course, a legally constituted and registered trust would have to be created and a piece of land conveyed to the trust.

The trust could then present me with a Certificate of Title to the land and it would be mine for all time.

My wife Pam and I now have our very own piece of Scotland, the Certificate of Title is framed and hangs upon the wall where we see it each day as a reminder of the Scottish Highlands and the heritage that will always be ours, indeed we regard it as a family heirloom to be passed down to future generations.

collect.gif - 30.4 K You too could share my pride by owning a title to a plot of land in this beautiful part of the Highlands, I know that having taken so much care to legally constitute the trust, Trevor would be only too pleased to convey to you a small parcel of this unique view point which is, without doubt one of the finest in the Highlands.
