The early evening mist hung almost ghost-like just above the calm, lapping waters of the loch. The mountains stood at attention as they guarded the loch, their glorious coloured heather kindled by the dying light of the setting sun. Pipes wailed hauntingly through the glen as folks settled down to their evenings of dance, feasting and general merry making. The chieftain lounged comfortably by a large fire watching the entertainments of clansmen and women as they jumped and skipped to the piper's tunes. Suddenly all was turmoil as out of the dusky light came fierce, running savages all shouting war slogans as they met their enemy. It was not war it was cold-blooded slaughter! Unfortunately my ancestors were the drunken, lounging clan and were almost completely killed off. However one escaped and started the family anew and thankfully that is how I came to be here to say "Hello, pleased to be here. Perhaps we can chat sometime?"
