The warm yellow Orbost Farmhouse is over a century old. It nestles at the foot of some of the most beautiful hills on Skye. It is the centre of activity for a 6,000 acre farm operation that includes over 1,500 sheep, 40 cows, two ponies and 5 sheep dogs. It is a wonderful sight if you happen to visit during one of the farm's "gatherings" that will allow you to see the sheep being carefully tended by the dogs.
If you prefer to just relax with a good book there is a pleasant resident's lounge including a warm and cheery coal fire. The resident's lounge is where you will be served a marvelous full Scottish breakfast including farm fresh eggs and homemade jams.
The rooms are tastefully decorated and include in room sinks and coffee/tea making facilities. When you wake you'll find right outside your window a beautiful Skye panarama and the peaceful activity of a Scottish farm. You will feel as if it is all yours and you need not share with anyone.

From ferries go north toward Portree.
At the Sligachan Hotel turn north toward Dunvegan.
At Roskhill turn left on unclassified road and follow Orbost sign.
From A850 turn right on B884 and follow Orbost sign. When you reach the left turn for the Orbost gallery you should continue ahead toward Orbost House. Orbost Farm House will be on your right behind steading.
Turn in and park outside the gate.
