Her newest book "The World of Rosamund Pilcher" invites people to share the
breathtaking views and tranquil places that have inspired her writing. It
is not a novel but a delightful blend of stories of Rosamund's life
interspersed with actual photographs of the scenes in her books including
quotes from her writing.
Two of her books, September and Wild Mountain Thyme, are set in Scotland so the new book is filled with magnificent pictures of Scotland. Two sections are of particular interest to the highland lover. The first chapter, "My Second Home" is about the small highland town of Dornoch which Rosamund chooses as her second home. I was so disappointed the last time I was in Dornoch because she was signing copies of Coming Home and I missed her by one day. The book contains many photographs from the town of Dornoch and the Sutherland area including personal pictures of Rosamund's home, her walking her dog on the beach and even her hanging clothes outside to dry in the breeze.
The section of the book entitled Scotland includes a
photographic tour of Scotland including the highlands in full heather dress,
pictures of gross hunting high in the hills, scenes on the coast, and many
more. We have placed a couple of pictures from the book with this article
to give you an idea of the beauty that awaits inside its pages.
This is not the usual Rosamund type novel but a celebration in pictures of the author, the land she writes about and the quotes everyone who loves her writing will always remember. You do not have to be a Rosamund Pilcher fan to enjoy this book. If you are a Scotland lover, it's a must read for the glorious pictures and words about the country.
