The proud flag of Scottish independence is carried today by the Scottish National Party, which we at Highlander Web Magazine are proud to rally behind.

It seems to me obvious that if Scotland is to have a future, any future, it must gain itsindependence. Only as an independent nation state will Scots again have the chanceto control their own future."

Director of Systems Development, Mark Monaghan, has long held the opinion thatScotland's independence is more than just a political fight;

"Within Europe, Scotland has been a power and an ally of many nations for hundredsof years. Relations with many of Europe's strongest countries not to mention tradingroutes and open markets were forged centuries ago, before the Union of the Crowns.

If we are to remember the Guardians of Scotland from centuries gone by, if we are tolive up to our blood stained history and fly the Saltire on our land, we have to supporttheir modern equivalent. The Scottish National Party is today the political equivalentof Scotland's Guardians and the people who strive to keep Scotland alive and free.

There are millions of Scots worldwide who would vote today for independence for Scotland. Millions more who love and admire our country would join in. But it is up to those of us in Scotland to choose in the ballot box. London can only rule for as long as the Scots allow it to.

We believe the Scots will choose independence. And they should be encouraged to do so by the clear evidence of support for them and their country throughout the world. Send your support to the SNP and tell Scotland its time to be free!"

Within the policies of the Scottish National Party can be found the key to Scotland'ssuccess. While the policies of New Labour, the Conservative's and LiberalDemocratic Party continue to converge, the Scottish National Party remainsdistinctive in being the only party with Scotland's future at heart.
